Telling the bloody, insider’s tale of the foreign drug and guns smuggling operations of the scary Bandidos gang, this chilling story is the 1st time that an insider has informed the real tale of the motorcycle gangs that dominate the drug and unlawful guns alternate around the globe. For 10 years, Steve Utah used to be a Bandidos insider, a relied on confidante of senior motorcycle gang participants alongside the east coast of Australia. He prepared their safety, cooked their medicines, and witnessed conferences within which in another country guns smuggling was once deliberate. Utah enjoyed the wildness of the Bandido lifestyles and their contempt for the legislation, yet as he plummeted deeper into the center of the gang, his lifestyles began to spiral uncontrolled. He witnessed vicious beatings, helped unload corpses, and observed males performed in entrance of his eyes. In a determined try to regain regulate of his existence, he resorted to the unthinkable—he rolled over to the federal police and informed all of them he knew concerning the Bandidos. This surprising, unflinching, tragic tale is his confession, and doubtless his death gasp, for he understands that necessarily the Bandido code could be commemorated and he'll be silenced.

What a great name for a bike gang, he thought. By 1983 Ross had forty full members in his gang, and two chapters in Sydney. indd 14 22/7/08 4:36:06 PM THE BANDIDOS SADDLE UP militaristic. One gang member noted, ‘If I wanted to march around the fuckin’ backyard, I would have joined the fuckin’ army’. Ross blamed new members of the Comancheros for the split. By his rules, adultery was not on, drugs were not on, and drinking exuberantly on a Saturday night was pretty normal. He observed: ‘Then new men came into the club with new ideas and new ways to make money.

As with most of these fairly waffly ‘initiatives’ very little changed for the better, unless you were a Bandido, in which case you prospered. By 1990 the NSW Police Tactical Intelligence Section had gone public with their worries. ‘The similarity (of bike gangs) in their illicit (drug related) operations, their hierarchical organisation and their ruthless use of violent standover tactics has led to comparisons being drawn with the Mafia’ they reported in the Police News. What they also thought was that the bikie gangs were decidedly nastier when it came to intimidating their enemies or anyone who might have a potentially adverse effect on the rivers of gold that drugs brought.

Their stock in trade was burglary, car theft and the occasional sale of fairly mundane drugs like marijuana. Crimes of opportunity rather than planning. In a pattern that would be repeated in his later life with the Bandidos, Utah ran with the gang but didn’t get too involved in their criminal adventures. Everyone’s first sexual encounter tends to be memorable for good reasons or bad. Utah’s maiden outing was with a school-mate, one Roberta Mircieca. Like Utah’s, her life had been a rough one. Her father, a truck driver, had been burned to death in an accident when she was eight months old.
