The other half box was kept in a separate room as control. Fruits from the "treated" catton produced the two peaks labeled B in Figure 8. m. m. on a whole-fruit basis. It was not possible directly and simply to relate the slope of the fortified control standard curve to that of a primary standard curve with biphenyl alone, for without a "keeper" such as orange oil biphenyl was lost in large and variable amounts during the Solidprep homogenization cycle.
