Who are your heroes of the faith? My list is long and includes Noah and his wife (hey, she doesn’t get a lot of credit, but she had to suffer the stink of the animals too), Abraham and Sarah, Moses, Joshua, David, Hezekiah, Josiah, Ruth, and Mary the mother of Jesus.

But there are other heroes who deserve shout-outs too; they are the heroes of the faith. Heroes of the faith are those who have put it all on the line for the glory of God. They are willing to do whatever it takes to carry out God’s calling on their lives regardless of the personal cost. The writer to the Hebrews gives us a glimpse at some of these heroes of the faith and says that many of them were … tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection.
